Carver Louis born and raised in small town Tooele, Utah lived the life of any home town kid. He grew up playing sports for the local high school, from running track to being the quarterback of the football team., all while listening to the greats like George Strait and Alan Jackson. Being molded by small town country music it was only fitting that Carver take the stage as a country musician one day.

Soon after releasing his debut single “Through with You”, in 2017, Carver’s music career took off. He began performing at smaller venues such as rodeos and county fairs. However, that soon changed when Carver performed at Country Fan Fest 2017. Carver gained traction and his popularity grew so did the audience, going from 12 people at a barbeque joint to 6,000 when he opened for Rodney Atkins at Cherry Peak Resort. Larger performances such as the Country Summer Music Festival in California followed soon after the release of his freshman album Through with You in 2018. Which included “Country Way” and “All Because of You.”

After the release of Carver’s sophomore EP Take Off released April of 2021, includes the tracks “I Hope You’re Good” and “Change Up.” He rejoined Rodney Adkins as his opening act during the western leg of his tour.

During his career Carver has been given the opportunity to open for a wide range of country artists such as Travis Denning, John Micheal Montgomery, Diamond Rio, Carly Pierce, Morgan Evans, Thompson Square, Trick Pony, LoCash, Midland, Coffey Anderson, Waterloo Revival and Black Hawk. During his shows he commits to give the audience 100%, pouring his heart out in every song never leaving the audience disappointed.

Almost two years have passed since country hitmaker Craig Campbell has released new music. But in a world fueled by the smoke and mirror act of overnight success, Campbell has long been admired for his patience and persistence on the road less travelled. A consistent balancing act of traditional values and modern industry trends, Campbell is also considered by many to be one of the most talented yet under the radar stars, across all genres. And now, his highly anticipated single, “It’s About Time”, marks Campbell’s first independent release since parting ways with his former label, Broken Bow Records. It also highlights the first track the charismatic charmer has co-produced, along with playing acoustic guitar and piano, and singing his own harmonies. But this song is no stranger to the set list. In fact, Campbell has seized every opportunity in the last two years to deliver this sultry ballad to a captivated audience with just his airtight vocals and a piano.

After all, the magic of the keys brought him his hunger for music as a child. The good ole’ down home boy grew up playing his mother’s piano and singing in church. After graduating high school, he took a job as a corrections officer in his hometown of Lyons, Georgia. But music never left his side. Taking a cue from the sounds of classic country and idols like Travis Tritt and Randy Travis, Campbell started a band and played local and national bar gigs. When the guitar player quit, Campbell took that as a sign to chase his dreams all the way to Nashville, Tennessee.

With two rolls of quarters and a roll of dimes given to him by his mother for gas money, Campbell barely made it into town. Starting in 2002, the young hopeful would spend the next several years paying his dues the old fashioned way. A demo singer by day and Lower Broadway gigger by night, Campbell was eventually connected to a soon to be signed artist who needed a keyboard player. He and fellow South Georgia native Luke Bryan hit it off and Campbell got the job.  A year and a half long keyboard stint with Tracy Byrd soon followed, and on his non travel days, he took over as bandleader down at The Stage on Tuesday nights. His smooth chops and hot blooded stage presence soon caught the eye of industry execs and in 2009, Campbell signed with Bigger Picture Group.

The Roads Below is new to the Nashville music scene, but not wasting any time. After self-releasing their debut single “I Want Us”, the track instantly gained attention, garnering over 9 Million streams without any major promotion or playlists. The catchy country singles “Good At It” and “Bonfire” followed after, showcasing the bands unique and strong song-writing. The Roads Below is a promising new act in the country music scene, growing their fan base through word of mouth and streaming, without any mainstream press or radio play. The Roads Below was formed by singer/songwriter Phil Evans, a native of Arkansas, and Los Angeles based guitarist Max Martilik. The two moved to Music City, where they linked up with bassist Seth Van Dusen to complete a newly written catalogue of songs that Evans had been working on. The band combines a dynamic arrangement of hard hitting melodies, with a twist of homegrown country edge.

He got super famous on Facebook with a meme of him on a JetSki, super funny story. I had heard stories about who Jason Cross was before I ever met him. We talked getting on festivals without an agent or a manager. He is a true hustler and that’s why I think I was drawn to him as a person. We met in North Carolina of all places, booked him a show in Vegas and now he’s back!

We talked about Russell Dickerson’s shows over the years and our goal of selling out and when we did, it was show stopping worthy!

Jason Cross is a country rock artist who possesses the perfect blend of edgy style and country swagger. With a haircut that resembles a rockstar and the stage presence to match, Jason has created an undeniable brand for himself.

With his genre-bending country, pop, and R&B style, Nashville singer Drew Green first garnered attention as a songwriter before catching the spotlight with his 2020 tracks “Little More Be Alright’ and “Right Where I Be.” Both cuts appeared on his debut EP, Dirt Boy, Vol. 1. His 2021 follow-up, Dirt Boy, Vol. 2, included the streaming hit “Hooch.” The soulful standalone single “Good Ol’ Man” arrived in early 2022.

Born in McMinnville, Tennessee, Green grew up on a tree farm where his family introduced him to country artists like Sammy Kershaw and Alan Jackson. During his teens he began expanding his ears as friends exposed him to a mix of hip-hop, pop, and R&B performers, including Usher, Craig David, Matchbox Twenty, and Dr. Dre. He played in bands in high school and continued to hone his songwriting skills at college. Following his graduation, Green based himself in Nashville, singing in the house band at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge and working a day job at a bank, all the while pursuing a songwriting career.

He eventually gained a foothold in the industry, co-penning songs like Florida Georgia Line’s “Colorado” with Hardy and Hunter Phelps. In November 2018, he signed a publishing contract with Brett James’ Cornman Music. More opportunities followed and in June 2020, Green signed a recording contract with Villa 40/Sony Music Nashville, debuting that same month with the song “Little More Be Alright.”

A second song, “Right Where I Be,” followed a month later, with both tracks appearing on the EP Dirt Boy, Vol. 1. 2021 saw the release of the twangy single “Hooch,” ahead of the arrival of Dirt Boy, Vol. 2. Green started out strong in early 2022 with the country-pop and R&B-leaning viral hit “Good Ol’ Man.” ~ Matt Collar

In 2023, Drew has spent the year writing, recording and releasing songs “Prayer List”, “Yep” and “Best Ex I Ever Had” whilst playing shows across the US.  He’s gearing up to release his next single “Lotta Bit Of You”, after the song hitting virality on TikTok.

After the breakout success of his first studio album, 2019’s Love and Whiskey, a lot has changed for Average Joes Entertainment star Sam Grow. That milestone project followed years of grinding work, writing his own tunes, booking his own shows and recording his own EPs … but it was all rewarded. Love and Whiskey hit Number One on iTunes’ Country Albums chart – doing so with zero radio airplay – and since then he’s only poured more gas on the fire. Grow’s 2020 single “Song About You” burned red hot, pulling in more than 50 million streams and getting named one of Spotify’s “Best Country Songs” in the process. Grow’s been featured on Billboard’s coveted “7 Country Acts To Watch” list, and touted by Music Row as a sure-bet for future superstardom, among other accolades, as the temperature continues to spike. But with his new sophomore album, This Town, Grow goes back to where it all started. Painting a sonic picture of the small-town world he was raised in – rocked by changing times but still holding strong – he’s building on success … and letting fans know they’re never alone.

“I feel like right now I’m making some of the best music I’ve ever made,” he says – and honestly, that’s saying a lot, since the Maryland native is the definition of a “prolific creator.” Since his 2014 arrival in Nashville, he’s dropped three EPs and his milestone debut album, never letting more than a few years pass between releases. But things are different now. “2020 was a big revelation to me, of how important music is to people’s lives – even in the worst times,” he says. “To be able to put on a song and not feel alone, even when the world seems like it’s crashing around you, that’s such an intimate thing.” Calling his new music the “most-personal” of his career, Grow takes that realization and runs with it for This Town, embracing his journey as proof of what’s possible. Emboldened by success but still inspired by his roots, he was joined by producers Colt Ford and Noah Gordon for 12 fresh tunes, choosing soulful honesty over mainstream conformity. That go-your-own-way, DIY mindset has always been part of Grow’s blue-collar ethos, but This Town takes it to new levels.

Of the album’s 12 songs, Grow wrote or co-wrote all but one. Three of them were even written solo, as Ford and Gordon pushed him to trust his creative instincts. And then, they went to work perfecting his sound, pumping up his muscular country tone with a sleek new gloss, dripping in county-line soul. Featuring his strongest vocal to date, plus a bold mix of ‘90s country, classic/Southern/alternative rock and even some pop punk, it’s the perfect match for Grow’s writing, with themes as timeless as they are relatable. “We’re not the only guys who grow up in small towns and go through breakups,” Grow explains. “But I wanted to make a soundtrack for that kid to realize that someone else went through it, too. I keep saying it but, it’s so true: If you don’t feel alone in something, you can overcome anything.” Rolling slow like a late night Main-Street cruise, the title track sets the scene. Inspired by real-life emotion, it finds Grow exploring how a home town feels forever changed after a breakup – which is something he knows his fans understand, no matter where they’re from.

“I couldn’t get these stories without being from a town of 1,500 people,” he says. “In 2020 we did this thing called Backyards and Bonfires and I went across the country to play in people’s backyards, and from California all the way back home, I realized it doesn’t matter where you are. Small towns all have the same people, we all come from the same cloth.” Meanwhile, the romantically charged “Song About You” changed the singer-songwriter’s life forever. Built around an irresistible melody and a passionate, heartwarming hook, the track arrived in April of 2020 and immediately struck a chord. It centered on the connection between two people – and the idea that no matter what’s happening outside, love is enough. “During that time, all people really had was each other,” he says. “If you were blessed enough to have someone in your life, it was you and them, and that could bring you back down to earth.” Now closing in on Grow’s first RIAA Gold certification, the song is not only his biggest hit to date, it’s the proof he needed to take his career to the next level. It led directly to This Town, and everything that will come after.

“That changes your confidence as an artist, to realize you don’t need to be some guy chasing down radio to get a Number One song, or to get a Gold record,” he explains. “It changed my perception.” The vivid emotional epic “You Ain’t Gone” shows off that perception, co-written with Keirsten Hedden as a pure-country ballad with rip-your-heart out theme. “Whiskey Bound” goes shot for shot in the getting-over-her stage, revealing Grow’s pop-punk roots with distorted guitars, pounding drums and plenty of “F-it” attitude. And speaking of attitude, the patriotic “Kiss My Ass” can speak for itself, a blues-rocking chest thumper that may as well be small-town America’s national anthem. Put together, it shows how far Grow has already come, and how he’s never lost sight of his roots. This Town is not just dedicated to where Grow came from, but to the man who put him there in the first place, and the memory-filled “Go Right Now” encapsulates their father-son bond.

“Losing my dad was one of the darkest moments of my life, and unfortunately I know there’s a lot of people out there in that club, people who feel the same,” Grow says. “I wanted to do that thing where someone doesn’t have to feel alone in that moment.” In case you haven’t noticed, that supportive call to arms is Sam Grow’s renewed purpose as an artist. This Town is just the first step. “The big thing is that over the last couple of years, we’ve all had to fight through some stuff,” he explains. “Even the little things you have to go through, they become twice as hard in the world we’re living in now, and I hope people listen and realize that someone else has gone trough it. That someone has come out the other side, and that they can, too. Whether it’s a breakup, or the loss of a family member, or even falling in love, all that stuff. The world isn’t as big as it seems sometimes.”

Josh Ross and Toad catching up again a couple months after his last visit to Vegas and Stoney’s Rockin’ Country! We dove into exactly what a couple months can do to someones career. Gettin out on the road with a monster band in Nickelback along with Brantley Gilbert! Learned how to work a stage, gain the confidence as an artist and how to build a crew!

I got to have some fun with Josh’s tour manager in the afternoon, raised his blood pressure just a little with a ticketing question. We dove into the comfort of a smaller stage as well as the joy in the larger stages. Getting out on the road with Bailey Zimmerman, playing the Ryman, the Forum, Canada and so many more places!

We had some fun talking supercross and motorcross, not sure I got an answer out of him completely on who will win the entire 24 season!

Echoing the primary themes of country in his pop-rock-infused way, Josh Ross’s take on love, work, and play is often documented through his whirlwind experiences. From moving to Nashville the night of a tornado, leaving only a month later when a global pandemic arrived, to developing an ever-evolving career amidst the drawbacks of injuries, lockdowns, and conflicting relationships, Josh Ross is a country artist bound by the act of forging past and overcoming restraints.

“There is something to be said about when your heart is really in the right place to sing something… As an artist, I want the listener and me to go back to a song and remember our exact experiences around it, to encourage connection in all forms,” Josh said. The need for that musical connection began growing up in Burlington, Ontario’s suburbia. Overhearing his parents sing along to Guns N Roses and Bruce Springsteen in their kitchen while he ran around the house pretending to play guitar. Learning in those early years what music was, he found himself writing words in his notebook that, at the time, he didn’t realize were poems and lyrics. Onwards through school, he focused on sports like motocross and football, eventually encountering the injuries that came with each game.

Following several football-related injuries at Ontario’s Western University, the isolation that came from the injuries allowed Josh some time to develop his relationship with music. Taking nearly empty shuttle buses to get to school due to the cast on his leg, learning how to play guitar in his dorm, and on a few noise-complaint occasions bringing two speakers and a subwoofer into the bathroom to belt songs, Josh eventually made the shift of not just listening to music but making his own.

“I had a lot of catching up to do,” Josh said on his first few years immersing himself in the music industry. From practicing in his dorm to playing his first live show at the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase in front of 5,000 people, Josh stated that “I used to throw up before the football games because of the anxiety, which is probably why I threw up before that show. ” While the pressure to succeed in his sports days poured over into his music career, the drive to achieve inspired him to connect with various songwriters and musicians, eventually leading him to Nashville. In conflict with choosing a stable job post-university or setting his sights on the music industry, Josh Ross’s passions, and talent, pushed him to the path of Nashville, where he further began developing his sound and artistry. From 2019 onwards, Josh Ross dove head-first into his music career as an artist with sonic elements in his music, nodding to raw country, soft rock, and hints of 80s pop-rock.

Many say the Pacific Northwest “Isn’t Country”. But Cort Carpenter begs to differ. A decade in Nashville has proven to be very successful for this Washington State boy. An indie artist on the rise, Cort continues to wow audiences and listeners around the world. I’ve known Siena for years, we’ve always talked about getting together and catching up on her life, personal and professional. We ended up spending some time on her mom, her cooking, desserts and BREAD! We need to get her on Chopped on the Food Network, my money would be on her!

The start of music in her life came from the lyric “‘Cause we’ll put a boot in your ass”! We talked old vegas, her family; from creativity in life to an uncle that was a “bad ass” guitar player. Started playing music at about 8 years old, guitar and piano. Played all around vegas to get the skill set down.

His first show was Hannah Montana and ya, we laughed a little bit but, facts are facts! We got to Country today and some of his favs like Cody Johnson, Randall King along with Aaron Watson.

Good luck keeping up with Cody Hibbard. The Adair, Oklahoma native grew up running and working on the family farm with dreams that spread across the horizon.

‍Music was always a love for Cody but wouldn’t be the passion until well after high school. Cody attended the United States Naval Academy where injuries would bring him to a different part of his life, Pipelining.

‍Working consistently and constantly running the roads brought new light to the small-town kid, which would lead him to picking up a guitar around the campgrounds and start finding the love to sing around his fellow blue-collar workers.

‍In the Spring of 2019, Cody stopped off to eat with some friends on the way to another pipeline job. Their waiter stopped Cody from ordering with a very common phrase to him, “you don’t sound how you look.”  One friend would reply, “you think that’s weird, you ought to hear him sing.”  One thing led to another, a guitar was broke out, and Cody was asked to come back and start singing bar gigs.  ‍

He found a deep love for writing music soon after and recorded his first single, Half Whiskey, Half Lonely at Rosewood Studios, which dropped September 2019.

‍Cody would release his first EP, Memory and a Dirt Road in January of 2020 which has garnished millions of streams followed by his hit singles Ice Cold Therapy, Armed and Dangerous, and The Truth in the summer of 2020.  In October 2021, Cody would drop his self-titled EP which has helped him put together a strenuous touring schedule.

Starting a music career is not easy and it sure isn’t easy to start one during a pandemic, but Cody and his team have been able to put out the music they want to put out, the way they want to, and find success doing so.  At the end of the day, Cody just wants to continue to run and prove that dreams are fueled by hard work and drive.

Echoing the primary themes of country in his pop-rock-infused way, Josh Ross’s take on love, work, and play is often documented through his whirlwind experiences. From moving to Nashville the night of a tornado, leaving only a month later when a global pandemic arrived, to developing an ever-evolving career amidst the drawbacks of injuries, lockdowns, and conflicting relationships, Josh Ross is a country artist bound by the act of forging past and overcoming restraints.

“There is something to be said about when your heart is really in the right place to sing something… As an artist, I want the listener and me to go back to a song and remember our exact experiences around it, to encourage connection in all forms,” Josh said. The need for that musical connection began growing up in Burlington, Ontario’s suburbia. Overhearing his parents sing along to Guns N Roses and Bruce Springsteen in their kitchen while he ran around the house pretending to play guitar. Learning in those early years what music was, he found himself writing words in his notebook that, at the time, he didn’t realize were poems and lyrics. Onwards through school, he focused on sports like motocross and football, eventually encountering the injuries that came with each game.

Following several football-related injuries at Ontario’s Western University, the isolation that came from the injuries allowed Josh some time to develop his relationship with music. Taking nearly empty shuttle buses to get to school due to the cast on his leg, learning how to play guitar in his dorm, and on a few noise-complaint occasions bringing two speakers and a subwoofer into the bathroom to belt songs, Josh eventually made the shift of not just listening to music but making his own.

“I had a lot of catching up to do,” Josh said on his first few years immersing himself in the music industry. From practicing in his dorm to playing his first live show at the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase in front of 5,000 people, Josh stated that “I used to throw up before the football games because of the anxiety, which is probably why I threw up before that show. ” While the pressure to succeed in his sports days poured over into his music career, the drive to achieve inspired him to connect with various songwriters and musicians, eventually leading him to Nashville. In conflict with choosing a stable job post-university or setting his sights on the music industry, Josh Ross’s passions, and talent, pushed him to the path of Nashville, where he further began developing his sound and artistry. Catie Offerman may be a new name to country music fans, but she’s already gaining a reputation as one of the genre’s most skilled players and promising modern traditionalists and Nashville’s music community is responding. Originally from New Braunfels, Texas, Offerman grew up on a horse ranch. Home schooled by her father in the tack room of their barn, she gravitated towards music at a young age. Country singer Triston Marez’s sound isn’t just centered around the crying steel or prominent fiddles that often go hand in hand with the rolling plains or legendary dancehalls that come to mind when thinking about country music — they’re part of a way of life for the 25-year-old. As a member of a musical family from Oklahoma known for their bluegrass and fiddle talents, Marez started playing guitar at age six and his first live performance was a Buck Owens song in the first grade talent show. Marez worked as a ranch hand and even rode bulls as a hobby for years to support his music career. He also won the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo’s talent competition in 2014.

Authenticity. Heart. Grit. Scott Stevens likes the way those words roll off his tongue. “It’s all about being able to flourish in your own skin,” says Stevens, whose forthcoming debut album, is a master class in what happens when a musician leans into his natural-bred confidence and emotion. “Sometimes you gotta double down, step off the ledge and trust whatever it is you trust,” Stevens says of putting his entirety into his music.

Birge (rhymes with “merge”) was scrolling through the TikTok account he had just created when he came across a star of the platform poking fun at country music. Erynn Chambers, known to her three-quarter of a million followers as Rynnstar, joked that many country songs are just repetitious ditties about beer, trucks, and girls. To her credit, she had a point, but Birge was determined to prove to Rynnstar that in the right hands even the most mundane of phrases can inspire a great, multi-layered song.

With that in mind, the Texas-born, Nashville-based songwriter grabbed his guitar and wrote “Beer Beer, Truck Truck,” an up-tempo sing-along that is about far more than those writing-room tropes. It’s about missing the one you love and wooing them to come back. “I know the city called you, go baby spread your wings/I’ll be here waiting on you, out here in the country,” Birge sings.

“The whole point was to say that, yeah, the country lifestyle may not be as flashy or as fast-paced as the city, but there’s more to it than meets the eye — and if you give me a chance, I’ll show you how good it can be,” Birge says. As the lyrics drive home, it’s not all “beer, beer/truck, truck/girls in them tight jeans.”

Produced by Ash Bowers, “Beer Beer, Truck Truck” blends the studio loops and effects that power country music’s modern-day hits with the traditional sounds that Birge heard growing up in Austin — his family are such George Strait fans that his mom jokes he was named after the Texas icon and not George Birge Sr.

 The end result is both interesting and irresistible.

The country singer has single handedly acquired millions of views across social platforms and been recognized by Billboard as a “A ferocious newcomer with ceiling scraping vocals”. Rent was due, she’d find items on the side of the road and she’d sell, spent very few hours on Broadway but knew yet again that rent was due. “This is me,” says Priscilla Block. “Love it or leave it.”

It’s that kind of attitude towards life, and her fearless music-making, that has made the rising country star one of the genre’s most exciting new artists and one of its most authentic and relatable voices. One part endless party, one part unmitigated honesty, and one part best friend who always gives it to you straight, even when it hurts, Priscilla’s debut album, Welcome to the Block Party, finds an artist who is redefining ‘three chords and the truth’ for an entirely new generation.

Though she came to prominence in 2020, Priscilla’s rise has been years in the making, full of hard work, long hours, and country grit. Originally from Raleigh, NC, she moved to Nashville to pursue music shortly after high school after being encouraged by her mom to pick up the guitar when she found one in the attic of the house she shared with her four siblings. “I auditioned for every single singing show,” she remembers with a laugh. “Then as soon as I could leave town, I packed my bags and moved to Nashville.”

Nothing went right at first: her house was broken in to more than once, and she wasn’t yet old enough to even get into bars to perform or attend songwriting rounds–it was discouraging to say the least. It was while working at a yogurt shop, taking classes in the evening, and reaching what she thought may be her final straw of misfortune in town, when things suddenly changed: Taylor Swift drove by, spotting Pricilla wearing one of her shirts, she pulled over. “Taylor was like, ‘hey, I love your shirt so much, thanks for supporting me,’” Priscilla remembers fondly. “I went to class that night and I decided that I really needed to give music a proper shot. I quit my job and school that night.”

From then on, Priscilla dedicated every waking hour she could to songwriting. She built a close group of collaborators –including her roommate Sarah Jones –and even made a fake booking company to try and secure the band gigs around town. She played outside of Bridgestone arena during big concert nights, and “the hustle was at an all-time high,” she says, nannying, dog walking, and selling goods on Craigslist just to pay the bills. “Anything I could do was how I got by.”

Priscilla and her band were gaining some momentum when they got a brutal blow, along with the rest of the world –the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and she was stuck on lockdown. She had been writing songs nonstop before March 2020, but she’d never quite thought about sharing them explicitly on social media until the pandemic hit. Having moved out of her apartment into a house shared by random Craigslist roommates, she needed something to fill the dreary days.

TikTok, while thoroughly driving pop culture in myriad ways, had not yet made inroads with a country fanbase: until Priscilla came along. When she started posting songs like “Thick Thighs” and “PMS” in the middle of lockdown, to continue to share her music with her fans, she would never have imagined that she would soon top the iTunes Country and All-Genre song charts.

Coming through Vegas to play Stoney’s, we dove right into life and what got Kassi Ashton to where she is today! Her mom sang her whole life and was born and raised in Nashville. Kassi came from California, Missouri to Nashville right after high school! We jumped into competitive dance, ballet, that small town life. Miranda Lambert being an idol to her career, her love for Beyonce and her craft.

Crazy to think, these guys have been doing music together for 15 years. That says a lot in music or in any relationship these days! We talked about their best show that they’ve been a part of, the feeling on the stage of having people singing your song back to you. It’s def a drug or an addiction per se. We talked about their best show so far in their careers .

I was sent Hang My Hat as a release but fell in love with Wild Frontier so that’s where I leaned. Over a million streams on Spotify alone, Toad picked the winner

We jumped into Wrangler Jeans and her relationship with the brand, she might have even tried to talk me into getting into a pair myself… we will see.

We talked about her upcoming release, her husband’s input, big girl pants, soaking the final tunes up over the holidays in the same place where the songs were written. Kind of a cool moment and part of this podcast for sure.

Sam Grow coming by to hang out and celebrate the birthday of Toad! Ya, that’s like 3rd person chatter ha ha. We talked shows through the last couple years, spending some time on the road with Demun Jones, the grind… fertilizing sun flowers in Wyoming.. well, Tinley did. We talked driving across the country doing the acoustic shows and the love in driving and seeing the country.

We finally got to jump into the new life of Sam Grow being married and looking happier than I have ever seen him. We got to dive into relationships, family life… the daughters getting along… a blessing. There’s a lot to soak up with Sam in this one. I can’t express it enough, I have never seen Sam this happy and that makes me happy AF!

Has been a bit since we got to actually catch up and talk shop and this was fun! Michael Ray and Toad catching up on the core group that keeps Michael growing as a person and an artist.  Michael Knox, Josh Phillips, Michael Tyler and Rian Ball all in the group of getting the new music out with Michal Ray. Kinda cool to hear the stories of the songs from the inception, the rough cuts to the final release. We dove into Get Her Back, the latest single, MT, Josh and Rian and just how Michael fell into the song from where his life has gone and is today.

We talked Tim Montana, eating the whole ball of wasabi, Randy Couture choking out Kyle from Tim’s band. Jumped into hanging out with Dan Henderson and Ryan Bader. Huge MMA fan. One night, thinking she was going to head back home and call it quits…. decided to buy a ticket to the Opry to see if it was going to revive the drive to be the artist she is today. Best thing she ever did!

Getting to open for Maren Morris, Brothers Osborn chatting about her on a red carpet, now look what she’s accomplished up to today!  Getting to go on the road with Jon Pardi as well as the boys of Midland! Sounds like a complete party to me! May, just around the corner… getting to go out on the road with the one and only Shania Twain!!!

Finally got some time to hang out with Chancey Williams and talk Vegas, music, recording, the road… life as a farmer and a saddle bronc rider! Knowing the difference in a crowds response from the cover music to the originals. Learned the ropes of being in front of a crowd from Denver to Las Vegas and turning it into the original music and building the fan base they have today from the grind!

Growing up in Wyoming, doing everything DYI style makes everything rewarding in such a great way. Cheyenne Frontier Days, opening for Cody Johnson at the Ryman Auditorium, April 22nd… his Grand Ole Opry debut is happening… it’s with his own band. This is rare to get to bring your band with ya but it was something Chancey definitely needed and earned.

Saddle Bronc athlete turned neo-traditional country music sensation, Chancey Williams, has gone from competing on horseback to performing on center stage.  As one of only two artists (Chris LeDoux) to both compete in the rodeo and perform on the main stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the only singer/songwriter to be endorsed by CINCH®,  Williams is the next authentic cowboy of country music.

Growing up on a ranch in the northeastern corner of Wyoming, Williams is one of the proud few hailing from Moorcroft, WY – a town so small it doesn’t need stoplights. Rodeo, wrestling, and academic talents took him first to Casper College and then to the University of Wyoming.  Chancey earned several degrees, including a Master’s in Public Administration, but it was music and the camaraderie of the road that continues to take him all over the United States.

Chancey was named iHeartRadio’s 2022 Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year. Williams also won Songwriter of the Year for ‘The Saint’ and Album of the Year for his most recent record produced with country hitmaker, Trent Wilmon, 3rd Street. The story of his growth through music via NASCAR is pretty bad ass and genuine!

Talked about getting to see Merle Haggard at the Ryman Auditorium… the first time that music made the hair on his arms stand up! Fun fact… Tim does not like to be in a bar or at a party without being in control of the music. How about his bar tab is less than his “credit needs” to skip music in a bar.

Finally getting to sit down with the guy behind The Whiskey Will, Joe Peters and I hashed out the music talk, traveling as a musician, having a “regular job” and finally growing into becoming a full time artist. Talking industry, growing as an artist with getting to play on bigger shows with bigger artists, making it all come full circle with the grind.

Living in the uncomfortable zone, a great way to look at growth in the music industry that might actually be something that translates into everyday life. Playing with Tim McGraw, singing the national anthem at Dodger Stadium, more music around the corner… learning the difference in dropping multiple songs vs peppering in tunes on a somewhat regular basis, the industry is ever changing.

Future goals… hitting the road with artists like Cody Johnson, rodeo backgrounds align.. seems like a good fit. Had some fun with Waylon and Randy Houser, talkin’ the need or the lack there of a setlist, talked about the writers Lynn and Tammi Hutton, dropping some new tunes… end March of 23! Can’t wait!

A great time getting to catch up with Mike Ryan. His last play at Stoney’s Rockin’ Country was way back in 2017 but always great to have Mike and his band back in Vegas! We talked about Long Cut and its’ release. Hunting being one of his favorite thing to do. Him and his buddies went in on a ranch in Oklahoma called Rugged Mountain Ranch, we are talking 3700 acres of prime hunting for the guys! We talked cows, the meats, cougar hunting even dove into rock crawling.

Mike’s a pretty interesting guy.. he grew up bow hunting and he’d rather hunt that way vs the traditional style of hunting. I asked the best question as his passion is music and hunting… “If you could make money doing both, which would you prefer?”

We talked about a show Mike had with Morgan Wallen, the humbleness he appreciated is so genuine.

Growing up in Louisiana, made a stop in the Texas Music Scene before heading to Nashville, the back and forth drive to Texas to get her feet wet. Being a kid, loving the rodeo, her goat tying coach made the introduction into Texas Country via the Randy Rogers Band Live at Billy Bobs. Growing up writing music, lacking in self confidence, the writing made more sense so she didn’t have to get in front of people. Having a lisp didn’t help too much, she was able to get the lisp corrected and now from just writing to now writing and being able to share her stories herself.

Jordan Harvey’s life in Scotland to getting to the states in Nashville, playing in the pubs to getting a call from the BBC to getting on a Voice like show, getting on the show and coming in third! Dad comes up with a great idea to move to Nashville with the thoughts of Jordan being different enough to make it. Ice Cream, CMA’s, Keith Urban being the main driver for Jordan’s passion in music and having a shot at making it!

When you say everything happens for a reason, his trip into the states via New York and into Nashville and everything that happens from there makes this “story” even more epic! Growing up in Canada and getting into being on the stage from her mom, she was taken to try out for the Hanna Montana tribute and the rest is history. Owning her love of Nickelback, their tunes, writing style and wanting to get out on the road with them. 2015, packed her bags, dropped out of college and went to Nashville for a week to see what would happen and here we are today. The next step was the visa to get her to stay in Nashville. Getting out on the town, meeting everyone she needed to for her to continue her dream in Country / Punktry! The stars aligned with meeting folks like Blake Shelton, yup… all in the first week in town.

Supporting others in the industry is something she loves to do. Seeing the posters on the wall of her friends in Nashville whether playing soon or having already been there.  When she flies… She has to listen to Johnny Cash’s I Walk The Line. I love all the little things she has in her life, habits and more.

FYI, this show came together from 1 phone call from her pal Scotty Mac! Well played! Always wanting to be herself in music and her career, what a breath of fresh air!

Houston native Triston Marez makes forthright country music that nods not only to his Texas roots, but also to his adopted hometown of Nashville. With a rich baritone voice and a talent for crafting engaging lyrical stories, singer/songwriter Carter Winter is quickly becoming established as one of the most brilliant new singer/songwriters in country music.  His passion for touring the country and meeting fans has put him on stages coast to coast, where inspiration can strike at any time. Youth and authenticity are two traits that rarely coincide together. Add to that equation a voice that is much older than the 22-year old man it’s attached to and you suddenly begin seeing what all the fuss is about with Tyler Booth. 
 Raised around music and the struggles of being in a band, Tyler is hardwired for the music business and it shows in his work ethic. Born and raised in Wolfe County in the Southeastern region of Kentucky, Tyler has been writing songs and honing his craft for years. But, it’s that voice that caught the attention of one of Nashville’s finest songwriters in Phil O’Donnell. Phil heard that smooth baritone with an immediately identifiable southern drawl and knew he had found a young man worthy of his time. 
 When Tyler released his EP, Tyler and Phil chose six songs that showcase Tyler’s unique voice, but still allowed him to be who he is. For example, “Hank Crankin’ People” is a song that Tyler immediately identified with and it has quickly become an anthem to those in attendance at his shows. His youthful side is allowed to shine on, “If We Make It To Mexico”, as well as “Ready To Raise It.” Tyler’s tender side takes the spotlight on “Surrender”, a ballad penned by Tyler himself.

Jimmie Allen introduced Leo and Andrew to each other in Nashville after seeing each of them perform as solo artists. It was Jimmie’s suggestion that they join forces and become the first Black & White Duo in Country music. they took Jimmie up on that idea as well as his offer to manage them with his business parter, Aaron Benward at Jab Entertainment.

LEO BROOKS
Leo Brooks’ dad handed him an acoustic guitar and introduced him to the music of George Jones and Hank Williams at the age of four. Growing up in Miami, Leo spoke English and Spanish fluently and developed his songwriting chops at a young age while learning to play the bass guitar. His first audition was for the legendary Lauryn Hill right out of high school and eventually became her musical director. Leo then went on to become a Grammy Award- Winning collaborator for artists including: Pitbull, Lauryn Hill, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Cee Lo Green, and John Legend.

ANDREW MILLSAPS
Andrew Millsaps was born in Surry County, NC and started playing guitar and writing music at the age of thirteen. Andrew officially began his career playing for his friends and family around kitchen tables and weekend bonfires. Shortly after his high school graduation, he began performing at local venues while attending and then graduating from NC State University. Andrew was a semi-finalist in the “Music City Song Star Competition” and earned first place in the “Merlefest “Chris Austen Songwriting Contest”.

From working on the farm as a child, to co-writing Kelsea Ballerini’s hit “Dibs” to honing his own music, Ryan Griffin has always been about blending pure talent with good old hard work and tireless dedication. And, since arriving in Nashville from Florida at seventeen, he’s also always been about guiding his career equally from the gut and the heart. Since his top-streaming song “Woulda Left Me Too” introduced him as a singer with an unusually empathetic hand (and garnered millions of plays on Spotify), Griffin has been working to release music that finds his unique niche between R&B and country, and between fun and true vulnerability. And now, with three new busbee-produced tracks and more on the horizon, Griffin has never been more ready for this moment.

“I’ve never felt more true to myself than I have with this music,” says Griffin. “These songs have never felt so right.” Indeed, “Best Cold Beer,” “Good Company” and “Play It By Heart” are pure Griffin: they’re fun, as soulful and groovy as they are twangy, and uniquely perceptive, packed with razor-sharp insights about living and loving.

The child of hardworking parents who always instilled a deep work ethic in their son, Griffin spend his youth out in the sod fields and, in his down time, wrestling for any say in the car radio stations with his two brothers and his mom – to little success. But in hindsight, it was for the best: he ended up listening to everything from Vince Gill and George Strait to modern pop and R&B once he hit high school, and it shaped him in ways he didn’t even realize at the time.

One evening his father – who also loved Jimmy Buffett – took him to a local country festival, and Griffin’s future suddenly became clear: “I got to see Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson and all of these dudes,” Griffin remembers. “That’s when I realized this is what I want to do.”

A little boy who would hum melodies almost before he could talk, Griffin was always a musical kid, but his father, who raised two more sports-focused sons before him, didn’t know quite what to do with him. So, one day, he pulled out the phone book.

“He said ‘I’m going to call everyone who has something to do with music and find out what to do with this kid’,” Griffin remembers. “He sat there for hours and there was finally this dude who answered the phone, and he had a studio in his garage which was kind of unheard of. My pops said, ‘alright we’ll be there this week.’”

Griffin went in and recorded a little demo, and that was it. He spent the rest of his teenage years opening for the likes of Neil McCoy and Highway 101, and playing any stage he could. Then, at seventeen, he finally followed his dreams to Nashville, enrolling at Belmont University, first in the voice program and then, afraid all the training would massage the character form his sound, in the Music Business program. And, like most promising graduates, he hit all the milestones: he won the country music showcase, played the Best of the Best, and scored an internship at Broken Bow that saw him hitting the road to help tour manage Jason Aldean.

Years before Jason Nix hit the highway, playing nightly shows that mixed the modern twang of country music with the southern spirit of blue-collar rock & roll, he grew up working on cars with his father. Music and automobiles ran in the family. One minute, a young Jason would find himself accompanying his dad to band practice, where the older Nix would play bluegrass songs. The experience left a permanent mark on Nix, who bought a 1971 Chevelle not long after college and began restoring it. As his own music career took off — not only as an acclaimed frontman, but also as a songwriter and sought-after instrumentalist — so did the Chevelle’s complete overhaul.

“It’s my time machine,” he says of the vehicle. “There’s no radio and no AC, and it’s my gauge whenever I’m writing songs. If my car had a radio, what would I want to hear when I’m driving it? That’s the feeling I want to chase. The freedom that car makes me feel is the sound I want to make.”

Born in Nashville, Nix moved to Mississippi as a 5 year old. His upbringing was a musical one, filled with the down-home sounds of bluegrass and country. George Strait, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Nickel Creek, and Travis Tritt were childhood favorites, and as Nix grew older, he added rock-influenced artists like the Allman Brothers, the Eagles, and Charlie Daniels Band to the mix. That broad range of influences helped shape Nix’s own music, which he began playing as a member of a regionally-touring band in high school. Unable to shake his lifelong connection to Nashville, he moved back to Tennessee one day after his graduation.

In a city filled with starry-eyed artists looking for their big break, Nix rolled up his sleeves and got to work, earning his stripes not only as a big-voiced frontman, but also as a skilled guitarist. He toured with chart-topping artists like Canaan Smith and Chase Rice, playing guitar for both frontmen as their careers exploded. He wrote songs, too, earning a publishing deal and landing cuts with artists like Eli Young Band, Lainey Wilson, and the Shires. Finally, he played regular shows on Lower Broadway, remaining onstage until 2:30 a.m, sharpening his stage presence to a fine point… and waking up several hours later to go work a retail job at a clothing store.

Almost two years have passed since country hitmaker Craig Campbell has released new music. But in a world fueled by the smoke and mirror act of overnight success, Campbell has long been admired for his patience and persistence on the road less travelled. A consistent balancing act of traditional values and modern industry trends, Campbell is also considered by many to be one of the most talented yet under the radar stars, across all genres. And now, his highly anticipated single, “It’s About Time”, marks Campbell’s first independent release since parting ways with his former label, Broken Bow Records. When the guitar player quit, Campbell took that as a sign to chase his dreams all the way to Nashville, Tennessee.

With two rolls of quarters and a roll of dimes given to him by his mother for gas money, Campbell barely made it into town. Starting in 2002, the young hopeful would spend the next several years paying his dues the old fashioned way. A demo singer by day and Lower Broadway gigger by night, Campbell was eventually connected to a soon to be signed artist who needed a keyboard player. He and fellow South Georgia native Luke Bryan hit it off and Campbell got the job.  A year and a half long keyboard stint with Tracy Byrd soon followed, and on his non travel days, he took over as bandleader down at The Stage on Tuesday nights. His smooth chops and hot blooded stage presence soon caught the eye of industry execs and in 2009, Campbell signed with Bigger Picture Group.

His first single, the sentimental ballad “Family Man”, hit the top 15 on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart in 2011. “Outta My Head” also cracked the top 15, while the catchy tune “Fish” garnered more than 10 million on demand streams. His 2014 breakout hit “Keep ThemKisses Comin’” was on its way up the charts when Campbell got the unexpected call that after two albums and a string of hits, Bigger Picture had closed. However, Campbell and his devoted team continued to press radio stations around the country, so much so that the single ended an impressive run well inside the Top 10, which is unheard of for a song with no financial backing.

Raised in Corvallis, Oregon, Jackson Michelson kicked off his country career on the West Coast, carving out a sound that blended the rootsy twang of the American South with the sunny, feel-good spirit of the Pacific Coast. Nashville — the official capital of country music — lay 2,300 miles to the southeast, but Michelson focused on his home turf first, building an audience of West Coast fans who were drawn to his high-energy shows and relatable songwriting. By the time he did move to Nashville, he’d already spent years on the road, growing his fan base show-by-show and earning a record contract with Curb Records in the process.

It’s been a wild ride for the man who grew up in the “Grass Seed Capital of the World,” listening to the diverse sounds of his mother’s favorite country songs and his Dad’s soul records.

“Corvallis is a small college town,” he says of his Oregon home, whose farms supply much of the town’s teenage population with work during the warmer months. “You go to school, and in the summer you work on the farm starting at age 12. You either bale hay or drive the combine. That’s what most kids do, every single year.”

Once his older brother landed a record deal as a Christian artist, though, Michelson found himself with a different sort of summertime gig: selling t-shirts and CDs at his sibling’s gigs. Touring the country at a young age lit a fire inside Michelson, who began playing in bands back at home. He started writing original music, too, drawing on his own experiences to create songs that balanced high-energy hooks with good-natured, real-world storylines. It was music shaped by what he listened to and where he came from.

Songs like “The Good Life,” which has since become a popular track on SiriusXM radio, helped spread Michelson’s music to new fans across the country. Most of the grunt work, though, was done on the road, where Michelson delivered more than 100 shows per year. He opened for artists like Lee Brice, Blake Shelton and Frankie Ballard, earning new fans along the way. To him, those fans were everything. They were his muse, his support system, his champions. Crowd interaction became a crucial part of every Jackson Michelson show, and he always ended each gig the same way: by meeting fans, shaking hands and becoming friends with those who enjoyed his music.

Born and bred  in San Jose, California, JT Harker’s desire to perform came from attending countless concerts at nearby Shoreline Amphitheatre. 

“I’ve probably forgotten more shows than I remember, there were so many.  But Tom Petty, Brooks & Dunn, Blink 182, Outkast, Aerosmith… it didn’t really matter what genre of music it was, I loved it all.” JT says of his eclectic musical taste. However, it was a dual-headline Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney concert that stands out the most.

“I’ll never forget that, Tim Mcgraw was the biggest thing in country music, and Kenny had just caught fire with ‘She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy’ and ‘How Forever Feels’, I just remember both of them running around the stage and the crowd being completely lost in in their songs.  I thought to myself, being a country singer may be the coolest job in the world.”       

As the California country venue circuit picked up steam in the mid-2010’s, JT took full advantage of the opportunities.  Opening for established country artists Jake Owen, Rodney Atkins, Hardy, High Valley, Chase Bryant, Josh Thompson, Josh Abbot Band, Muscadine Bloodline, Devin Dawson, RaeLynn and Love and Theft, among others, JT and his ultra talented band rapidly made a name for themselves with their high-energy stage show.

Michael Ray loves a good story. So, it’s only natural that when it came time to tell his own, he gravitated to country music. “I feel like in music in general, but especially in country music, the story-lines have always been the foundation,” he says. “No matter what changes may happen with the sound, I feel like when you listen to a song, no matter what walk of life you come from, you can really lose yourself in that song and put your own story to it.”

At age 10, after beginning to learn guitar, Ray says, “I started playing every Thursday through Sunday with my grandfather in groups he was in. I learned a lot that I didn’t know would help me where I’m at now.” As he practiced, he began to take in the influence of a disparate group of contemporary artists, including everyone from Garth Brooks to Green Day. He was hooked and knew what he needed to do. “I switched my high school schedule so I could play bars and stuff on the weekends,” he says, and his grandfather backed him every step of the way. “He knew that I wanted to take it further than just playing bars and stuff in the hometown.” And he did, beginning a several year stretch of paying his dues playing all around Florida and eventually expanding out to Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama and the Carolinas while picking up work teaching guitar lessons and installing phones. In between covers, from Keith Whitley to Snoop Dogg, Ray would slip in originals, building a name for himself as both a songwriter and performer. Fortunately, Amos was able to enjoy some of his grandson’s success. “Florida radio was playing some of our stuff, so it was really cool for him to be able to hear that,” he says. “He sadly passed away two months before my Opry debut, but the Opry was kind enough to let me play ‘Green, Green Grass of Home,’ a Porter Wagoner song I used to play with him and I used the guitar that he played for sixty years.” “I feel like this album is a big reflection of the last two years,” says Michael of the time between his debut and “Amos,” as he’s toured, recorded and enjoyed a taste of success. “I feel like I found my voice. And when I’m asked what made me get to this point, if you peel back all the layers it goes back to my grandfather.”

They say Nashville is a 10-year town, but it only took Kameron Marlowe seven months to launch himself from struggling singer-songwriter and into the spotlight.

Marlowe found success with his independent debut release, “Giving You Up” – a heartbreak anthem that has topped more than 15 million streams and counting. It’s the first song Marlowe finished writing and it came with a personal price. The singer was 20 years old and planning to propose when his would-be fiancée dumped him for someone else. To get his feelings out, he picked up a pen.

“I had things I wanted to say,” Marlowe said. “I started writing and over the course of several weeks, it turned into a song that means something to me and honestly, helped me through a hard time.”

Born in the small town of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Kameron sold car parts at General Motors for a living before he got a call that changed his life forever. A recruiter from NBC’s “The Voice” found performance videos of Marlowe on YouTube and reached out with an offer to take him straight to the series’ live auditions. The offer was too good to pass up.

Phoenix native Austin Burke’s musical career began at three, when he sang the national anthem for the Diamondbacks and the Suns. At 19, Burke left behind dreams of playing baseball to pursue a career in country music in Nashville. He spent four years waiting tables, writing songs and saving enough money to record his debut single, “Sleepin’ Around.” The song led to a contract with WME and the opportunity to open for numerous high-profile artists, including Vince Gill and Dierks Bentley. Vocalist Rayne Johnson is a country music artist whose vocal style adds a touch of soul to songs that offer a fresh perspective on down-home themes. After years of paying his dues with live performances and singing competitions, Rayne’s smooth but expressive tenor started winning a larger audience in 2019 when his first two releases—the playful “Laid Back” and the heartfelt “Front Seat”—began making noise on streaming and radio.

Born and raised in Fairfield, Ohio, Rayne’s parents were country music fans who regularly played Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard around the house. When he became a teenager, the music ministers at his church began taking notice of his talents and he joined the choir.  There, he eventually overcame his stage fright by singing solos which led to him fronting a handful of local groups throughout his high school years.
